At Celestia TST, we’re proud to be part of Aena’s ambitious IoT project, bringing cutting-edge technology from Cantabria to 46 airports and 2 heliports across Spain. Together with Ambar Telecomunicaciones, our partnership is transforming critical infrastructures with robust networks and smart solutions.
Our CEO, Fran Alcalá, shared insights on the project during an interview for Cadena SER Cantabria’s #HoyPorHoy programme, emphasising that the key lies not only in technology, but in commitment, reliability and a clear vision to revolutionise the operational management of strategic infrastructures like those of Aena. Roberto García, Managing Director of Ambar Telecomunicaciones, also took part in the discussion.
With a budget exceeding €3.45 million and a 24-month execution timeline, the project began by monitoring washrooms to optimise maintenance. However, its scalable design will allow for expanded applications and functionalities to anticipate and meet operational and service needs, boosting efficiency and sustainability.
Projects like this position Cantabria as a national benchmark in technological innovation applied to critical infrastructures, highlighting the collaboration between telecoms and IoT development experts to deliver solutions with real, sustainable impact.
