Celestia TST presented ENERG-IA, its intelligent predictive maintenance project for the marine industry, at the Red TCNIC 2023-2026 Conference—an initiative by the Government of Cantabria aimed at fostering a collaborative ecosystem between industry, science and technology to accelerate the digital and green transition of the region’s industrial sector. ENERG-IA leverages distributed artificial intelligence to anticipate failures and optimise maintenance of infrastructures such as offshore wind farms and hydraulic assets, enhancing efficiency and safety in these critical systems.

The ENERG-IA project is being developed in partnership with the CTC Technology Centre (Cantabria) and IKERLAN (Basque Country), combining the expertise of two leading organisations in technological innovation and advanced solution transfer for industry. This alliance has enabled research and application of cutting-edge technologies in the energy sector, connecting industrial ecosystems across both regions and expanding the project’s scope and applicability.
During the event, our colleague Raúl Arnau explained how ENERG-IA tackles the main challenges of advanced monitoring in demanding environments, focusing on wireless IoT devices and TinyML techniques that allow data processing and decision-making directly on the device itself. This approach reduces reliance on massive communications and centralised storage, making infrastructure management more sustainable and reliable.
Raúl also highlighted the importance of industrial digitalisation, which requires combining expertise in sensorisation, communications, AI, machine learning, distributed computing and data management. In this regard, he emphasised how the TCNIC programme has been key for companies like Celestia TST to access advanced research and strengthen competitiveness, bridging the knowledge of regional centres with the real needs of industry.

The conference, promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Employment, Innovation and Trade of the Government of Cantabria through its Directorate-General for Innovation, was opened by Minister Eduardo Arasti. The event brought together companies, technology centres and research groups across three thematic round tables. Celestia TST shared the stage with LIS Data Solutions, Predictia Intelligence Data Solutions and the Radiofrequency and Microwave Research Group of the University of Cantabria, among other organisations.
The final part of the day was dedicated to demonstrations and networking, giving attendees the chance to interact with prototypes and technologies developed and see their applicability in real industrial processes, generating new collaboration opportunities.
At Celestia TST, we thank the Ministry and organisers for the invitation to take part in this forum and reaffirm our commitment to digital transformation and technological excellence in Cantabria.
We design, manufacture and implement bespoke IoT solutions at Celestia TST, including predictive maintenance for a wide range of industrial, energy and critical infrastructure applications.
