We close LoLiPoP-IoT: the final review is now official

After three years, LoLiPoP-IoT has passed its final review with good marks. The project culminated in Eindhoven (Netherlands) on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of June 2026, where the consortium presented its results to the panel of experts and the Project Officer.

LoLiPoP-IoT (Long Life Power Platforms for the Internet of Things) aimed for a specific goal: ultra-low power wireless sensors, easy to install without wiring and powered by environmental sources such as light, movement, or vibration. The idea is that they operate for years without batteries, even in demanding environments, and that they pave the way in sectors such as industry, smart mobility, or energy efficiency in buildings.

One of the use cases is the one developed by Celestia TST: a system that monitors the condition of the bearings from the vehicle's own wheel and is powered by the energy generated by movement. Our colleague Alona presented this work during the final event of the project.

The panel confirmed that the project has met its objectives and valued the work done over these three years, with an approach built on real use cases and not on laboratory demonstrations. The final steps for the definitive closure now remain.

The final review comes shortly after LoLiPoP-IoT's participation in EnerHarv 2026, held in Madrid at the end of May, where Celestia TST presented these advances to the energy harvesting community. Thanks to the entire consortium for these three years of work.
